Favorite Tabor Boy moment
Really - every moment. From painting the inside of the water tanks to standing on the spreaders above the fog line in Maine, to open-pit cooking on Orno Island, to rowing the captain's gig around Hell's-Half-Acre, to running though a school of flying fish on the trip from Puerto Rico north, to man-overboard drills, to leaving for Charleston after Hurricane Hugo, to riding out Hurricane Bob at anchor in Sippican Harbor ... my most vivid life's memories and lessons involve the Tabor Boy and Capt Geil's mentor-ship & friendship.
