Favorite Tabor Boy moment
We were entering Naushon(?) harbor opposite Wood's Hole under
full sail. I was at the anchor winch when Capt. Carlsen shouted
"Let go". Since I was the only one on the fore deck I thought
he meant let go the anchor. There should have been someone
on the staysail. Instead "anchors aweigh". Only one fathon of
chain passed down before I realized something was wrong and
corrected the situation. NO DAMAGE.

Jim Wick used that story for years.

Those are terrific stories; thanks for sharing. I’m very grateful for sailing with Capt Glaeser but I wish I had the opportunity to meet Capt Carlson.
