I had similar moments with Cap Glaeser sailing into anchorages and love reflecting back to those moments. Mostly now I appreciate how much trust he had in us as crew.
I remember well Cap Glaeser talking about the hurricane that your father was aboard for. It was pretty amazing and I think it was that trip where she was actually knocked down so that the yardarm was in the water. That prompted Cap to upgrade the main engine to a 8-71 Detroit so that he would have the HP to round up in the future if necessary. Wow, there have been some amazing adventures aboard the Schooner!
