Favorite Tabor Boy moment
too many to list all of them. Some of the most memorable are. My first time aloft to set the top sail, or having Cap catch me hand over hand on the triatic from fore to main. Or there was the time we ran for safe harbor ionto Newport News VA on our way south in a March gale and unded up on the weather side of a ship pier. Cap had us rolling truck tires down the pier to add to our yokahama bumper!
I would have to say the best moment was on Mothers day in Newport RI. A number of us were returning to the schooner well after business hours and christies had put a Mothers day ice carving outside the door to melt away. It was about two feet tall and had red roses imbeded in it. We managed to get the thing aboard and left it outside the deck house doors with a note on it that said "to Cap Happy Mothers Day from your crew" When he saw it in the morning he had us put it in the reefer and gave it to Mrs. G for Mothers day when we returned to Marion.!
Welcome aboard, It's been a long time! Do you stay in contact with any of the other guys? If so, can you let them know about the site? It would be great to have them on too.
