Short tacking thru the very narrow Current Cut, between St Thomas and Great St. James island.
I was stunned that the ship could head-reach straight upwind so far during a tack and then effortlessly pay off on the new tack. No schooner I have sailed before or since could even come close to making that maneuver.

Chris,
My 30th (big ouch) and your 20th reunion are coming up in June. I hope that you will be there. It would be fun to get a sail in with you.
Best regards,
Jamie

Hope you are well, have not seen you since signing off in the USVI in 02/96 to join an oil tanker bound for Valdez. Time has flown by!

Chris,
Welcome aboard. This site has been great for reconnecting with guys that I have sailed with on the TB over 30 years. I thought about sailing aboard one the SEA schooners as engineer in '99 but I had a conflicting event.
Again, welcome aboard and I hope that I get the opportunity to meet you at some point.
