- Favorite Tabor Boy moment
- Sailing in 12 foot swells while at the healm - realizing the sea is very large and the Tabor Boy, as big as she is, is very small. Realizing the enormous and heady responsibility of the captain and crew and the vital importance of "real life" experience for kids. You have to do your job on the TAbor Boy because you have to - and all recognize they are, truly,l part of a the crew - and mutually dependent on every single person on board. I never look at ship models the same way.

Welcome, and what an honor it is to have you aboard with us!
I scarcely have words to express how much this site means to me. The TABOR BOY has been such an important part of my life. I guess it is fair to say that I am a product of Tabor, the TABOR BOY, Cap, and my shipmates that were aboard her. I became a man aboard her and a good solid mariner. I also firmly know what it is to be a man, not just a man but a good man. Well, perhaps this is one way of describing sail training.
Strange enough, I am writing this while aboard NOAA’s Flag ship in the port of Montevideo, Uruguay. I am so grateful for my career which would not be if it were not for Tabor, the TABOR BOY or Cap. It’s a good career and one that I excel at.
The TABOR BOY Project has been such an avenue for me to reminisce and appreciate where I came from. Also, it’s been great to reconnect with many of my old shipmates. Two in particular were one and two years ahead of me aboard the schooner, Bob Glover and Peter Mello. They both contributed to my development back then and continue to be a very important part of my life. They are also the heart of this site.

It really means a lot to this online community to have you as a member. Thank you for all that you have done as headmaster for the thousands of young people who have attended Tabor over your years and for all of your support of Tabor Boy and the sail training program.
