Favorite Tabor Boy moment
We were out in Sippican Harbor rowing back to the dock from the Tabor Boy when some of us realized we forgot our jackets. Pat Collins decided that only those who forgot their jackets should have to row back to the ship, so we left the non-delinquents on a floating dock. A huge fog rolled in while we were back at the ship, and it took FOREVER to find our missing shipmates.

Meghan,
Truth is, I'm not "over there" much. I'm presently down in Pascagoula, MS for sea trials for one of our ships. I work for the Platform Acquisitions Program under the Office of Marine and Aviations Operations (OMAO) NOAA. My title is Commissioning Chief Engineer for New Construction which really translates to spending a lot of time in Pascagoula at the shipyard where we are building a fleet of new fisheries vessels and a new SWATH (Small Water Area Twin Hull) survey ship. I’ve been living in Waterford, VA for about nine years now and love the area.
Let me know if you should ever be in the Silver Spring area or for that matter Waterford and you can meet the family (wife, goats, dog …).
Best, Jamie
Meghan,
Welcome aboard! This project has been a lot of fun and a great avenue for catching up with old shipmates and meeting new ones.
Which branch of the government do you work for? I'm with NOAA (under DOC) and based out of Silver Spring, MD.
Again welcome!
