I hope you remember me from our Tabor Boy days, Bro Russell, I think we were both seniors When Nat Gladding was XO. We have lots to catch up on, but I’ve been trying to find anybody from our time who remembes Cap Teaching us about the laws of the sea. I certainly don’t mean the rules of the road, he taught me that the first law of the sea was to keep watch. The second law of the sea is it a captain shall always know the condition of his vessel. Third law of the sea: hull integrity. Do you remember anything like this? Bro
Jay, How are you doing these days? It has been too long since we have spoken. What are you up to? I'm still sailing and currently master of the M/T Maersk Rhode Island - a sweet double hulled handy tanker with bow and stern thrusters working in the Far East. Yes, the master of the Maersk Rhode Island is from Rhode Island. My email address is CapWalks@aol.com

Jay,
Just had dinner with Peter Mello and I brought your name up, not in vain. I am so amazed that you guys have not met. You both have the same passion for sail training. You should send him an email (peter.mello@sea-feverconsulting.com) and try to catch up with him. I think you guys would really enjoy talking about sail training and related topics.
Regards,
Jamie
I saw Nat Galdding and his wife about 8 months ago, he's retired now from piloting in Panama and bored to death. We had some outstanding days on teh TB didnt we? And Fat Cap, ........ what a performance. Like many ole tops'l guys I'm looking at the TB these days and wanting to go put some clothes on her, she looks so bare assed. Remember the vacation you spent stripping down the (was it the) main boom? The kids who sail on her now will never experience what taking in the tops'l in a storm in a 50'sea is like. Absolutely life forming and life changing. I was abroad and missed Cap's passing. Had you seen him very ofetn after we graduated?
Jay,
1960 - 1962, you old bastard!
How's the jet drive project?
We finally delivered the HENRY BIGELOW up to Newport where she's now working out of. I'm back working back and forth in Silver Spring and Pascagoula.
Best Regards,
Jamie
