Favorite Tabor Boy moment
Wow...tons of these, one was when Damon Sacco had 2 fishing lines in the water and we were under sail and I was at the Helm. Sacco was on Bow watch...he told me to yell if he gets a hit...of course he set the drag VERY tight..sure enough ZZZZZZIIIIIIINNNNNGGGGGG goes one of his lines...by the time he waddled from the bow to the stern and picked up his pole and attempted to set the drag his line was GONE baby GONE...
Then here comes CAP " JESUS CHRIST SACCO WHAT ARE YOU DOING FISHING FOR GOD DAM WHALES BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP"
That there was hilarious....
Then there was the time when the only sophmore on the trip mistakenly secured the wrong line to the jib and we were anchored in Tarpon Bay Eluthra(an unprotected cove) I had just gotten off of my watch and jumped into my box, I mean bunk when I heard this awful noise. I ran up the stairs with Leighton and there was Cap cussing up a storm, the anchor wench had stalled. Cap wanted to set the jib to adjust the direction of the Tabor Boy...Oh yeah we were in the middle of a freekin Squall.....Cap looks at me and Leighton and says get out there and fix the Jib.....HUH?
So Dougie and I go out there..both on our stomachs getting submerdged and pelted by the waves...unsecured the Jib.....once we got on the deck and back to the helm to tell Cap we had completed our task, he says (the only way Cap can say) it's about time you got some hair on your balls Davidson....
